Born and raised in Canada, Instructor Hubert Chow began his martial arts training and devotion to fitness at a young age.

He has extensive experience in a variety of martial arts styles internationally.

He speaks both English and Japanese, and looks forward to helping you get in shape, and... defend yourself!​

Self defence is not about fighting, and it is not sport. It's about protecting yourself in any possible way, and escaping and preventing harm to your body and psychological trauma in any threatening situation. 

In our workshops, we only use techniques that are useful and practical, and ignore what is useless. We want people to be able to defend themselves in many situations without years of training.

We teach concepts that are simple, easy to learn, and effective against larger people. We practice situations that you may encounter anywhere if you are attacked- standing up, from behind, or on the ground.

We borrow practical techniques from a wide range of martial arts and add unique techniques particularly useful for the street. These techniques can be learned and done by anyone regardless of size, or physical fitness and ability.

Our techniques can be modified to suit the strengths and limitations of each individual. You will learn how to defend yourself . And you will learn to walk through life with confidence and without fear.

Personal Training

My approach to training for fitness is based on martial arts conditioning workouts. Combat sports athletes are a great blend of strength, speed, stamina, balance, power, flexibility, and functionality in the entire body, with equal strength in their muscles and cardiovascular capacity. 

Many people go to gyms and lift weights or do cardio to look better. While this is a worthy goal, many prioritise looking fit over true fitness, which includes all the aspects mentioned earlier. Muscles alone do not equal fitness. Being thin with low body fat does not equal fitness. Being truly fit, is being fit inside and out.  

Looking fit is not necessarily being fit. It can be likened to a car with a stylish exterior but with an engine that won't run. Which is more important?

Our workouts will make you a well-rounded, functional, fit person, while learning some self defence skills at the same time. And not to mention being a great way to relieve stress.

I've had some great teachers and coaches, they motivated me, guided me, taught me. I want to do the same for you, and be with you every step in your struggles and triumphs along your fitness journey.

With my fitness programs, you will be truly fit, strong, and healthy in all ways. Make it a lifestyle choice. Looking good will be a side effect - not just an end goal.
